New Haven Neighborhoods

The Maintenance Division of the City of New Haven Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees is involved in a partnership with the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Urban Resources Initiative (URI - an initiative of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies) and the New Haven Land Trust to fund and coordinate community gardens and greenspaces.

Grand Avenue
Fairhaven: Grand Acres Garden Group meets to clean up the garden and tend to
a variety of vegetables and herbs on Grand Avenue.

Jocelyn Square
Fairhaven: Friends of Jocelyn Square Park plant some gorgeous perennials
at this site located on the East Street side of the park.


Newhallville: Neighbors helping neighbors improve their community by planting trees,
shrubs and perennials on Newhall Street.


Cedar Hill: Community Beautification throughout the neighborhood.
This Greenspace is located at the end of Cedar Hill Ave.
